WHAT THE HECK, WHY NOT?

Our participants raved about Steve’s presentation, so we thought “What the heck, let’s make the MasterClass available for lots more folks to learn from Steve.” So, here’s the recording (SO SORRY! Only available til 5/31/10) of the entire MasterClass (approx 55 mins). It is accessible through May 31st for the “fun” action takers to be empowered to speed up massive exposure & be the leaders of the pack.

Steve’s Insight into the Top 5 Online Video Questions
(also featured in the “big screen” of the MasterClass recording)

During the interactive Q&A portion of the masterclass, some key questions were raised, reflecting concerns shared by many of the participants. We wanted to share Steve’s answers to the top 5 online video questions with you too.

Question from Sari Signorelli of New York (participant): Will blog video’s authenticity render the slick corporate style videos less desirable?

(Note: Steve had mentioned in his presentation that videos that “capture & share moments that’s authentic & real” is one of the strategies you can use to brand yourself as a leader. You don’t have to use expensive video equipment or hire production companies. Chevrolet did it by getting “authentic testimonials” of folks who had tested its new electric car, the Chevrolet Volt like in this video where no intro, no editing, no music were used & very short too – simple yet brilliant being authentic & real.)

Question from Patricia Stark of New York: How often should you post a video to build an audience? Daily? 5 days a week?

Question from Kim Chandler McDonald of Australia: I’ve recently had suggestion to get professional videos made. Do you not think this is necessary? We’re in ‘high tech’, so wondering if less high tech video diminishes the ‘brand’ somehow.

The book that Steve referred to in his answer is his recently released book Get Seen: Online Video Secrets to Building Your Business. Check it out, lots of engaging, easy “how to” strategies to implement. Steve’s book is listed on David Meerman Scott’s The New Rules of Social Media book series that “includes titles that expand on the ideas of (Meerman’s) bestseller The New Rules of Marketing & PR with books that provide valuable insights and detail on different aspects of social media marketing.”

Question from Steve Eisenberg of New York: How do business bloggers take an agile approach to getting a new video series off the ground in a short amount of time & grow virally in a short amount of time?

Question from Suzy Spivey of Massachusetts: What editing software do you recommend for PC?

Steve Garfield said

(I use the software that Steve recommended. It is very satisfying, with the right “tool”, to be able to edit videos easily & quickly with minimum fuss & frustration, especially for non-techies like me.)

Your Turn:
What info did you find useful? What online video best practices have you used successfully?

Any videos you want your peers to provide feedback? Just include the link in Comments below.  Steve says that when he & his buddies give each other feedback, the agreement is to always start off by saying 3 good things the person did well. (We like it!)

Remember, sharing empowers everyone!
