Our Manifesto:
Inspired by two of our thought leaders, Dharmesh Shah and his brilliant “startup triplets” statements and David Weinberger’s bestselling book, The Cluetrain Manifesto, we decided to share our manifesto for AuthorsGlobe as follows:
The Big Idea: About 7 years ago, while still an Executive at Hewlett Packard in Singapore, I started a professional network called ConneXions to empower and connect the Singapore community with professional development by inviting book authors to share their knowledge on leadership, management and beyond. What’s your Big Idea?
The MIT Connection: Based on that experience, years later, during a fellowship at MIT, we transformed this idea into a business plan on how to offer high quality education and life-long learning to global audiences while bringing authors a “Virtual Book Tour”. In 2009, our venture won an award at the 2009 MIT $100K Entrepreneurship Competition and our company, AuthorsGlobe, was born.
Why We Exist?: First, we had to answer one of the most important questions any venture needs to ask on such a journey. Below is AuthorsGlobe’s “Manifesto”, our thesis for “existing” and what you can expect in dialog and partnership with us.
