Inspired by MassChallenge’s global startup competition with $1 Million in prizes to help entrepreneurs transform great ideas into great companies, MassChallenge & AuthorsGlobe presented jointly their first Virtual MasterClass on Tuesday, 4/27/10. The featured visionary leader was Daniel Isenberg, Professor of Management Practice, Babson College, leading authority on global entrepreneurship & author of The Global Entrepreneur Harvard Business Review article.
Thank You, Analyx!
Due to the generosity of our sponsor, Analyx, a global startup, YOU can have access to the recording of the entire MasterClass (approx 55 mins).
To Enter or Not Enter…Silly Question
John Harthorne, founder & CEO of MassChallenge, was the moderator. John highlighted all the fabulous reasons to participate in the global startup competition. As to whether to enter or not, as John wrote “it’s a silly question” since “entering will help you make the progress on your startup you need to make anyway.” Seize the moment, check it out, it might be your ticket to making a difference in the world.
Insights from Successful Global Entrepreneurs
An expert working with various global entrepreneurship ecosystems, Isenberg shared some inspiring examples of what normal folks who aren’t geeks or with the next big idea accomplished. His 6 liberal insights were refreshing and encouraging.
ah..The Key Question to Ask
Isenberg expressed that “anybody can be an entrepreneur. The drive to be entrepreneurial is part of the human spirit. We can do it if we all want to. That’s the most important thing.” I agree that “desire” is crucial, however, I feel that an equally key question to ask before taking the plunge is “Do I have what it takes to be an entrepreneur?” Isenberg has developed a 2-minute Isenberg Entrepreneur Test to help you see whether you are a potential entrepreneur. (If you are an entrepreneur, you might find it fun to “retrospect.”) In the MasterClass, Isenberg shared further insights on the characteristics of good entrepeneurs.
but…I don’t have any great ideas
If you are a wannabe entrepreneur with this mantra “I don’t have any great ideas,” Isenberg will immediately dispel this myth and more. So, head over to the recording and perhaps, this might inspire you to be one of the finalists in MassChallenge startup competition. Why not?
Sharing Empowers!
And yes, please head back here to this blog post and share your learning and insights. How did this information help you to be or not to be an entrepreneur? If you are an entrepreneur, what is ONE (or more) insight you can add?
